Crabtree is partnering with the @ncartmuseum to celebrate art, history, culture and artistic expression surrounding the Golden Mummies exhibit currently on display at NCMA through July 2021.
In a series of lavishly illustrated thematic sections, the exhibition uses the outstanding collections of the Manchester Museum to showcase multicultural Roman Egypt (circa 300 B.C.E.–200 C.E.), where diverse Egyptian, Roman, and Greek communities and cultural influences were blended. The exhibition journey traces expectations for the afterlife and introduces cultural constructions of identity, strikingly demonstrated by haunting, painted panel portraits.
We are inviting local individuals to create a portrait of themselves for a community portrait art initiative. Select portraits received will be enlarged to 36” x 48” print and displayed in frames on a wall at Crabtree in a highly visible area near the Food Court. Other portraits will be featured on the digital walls at Crabtree and in social media.
Dine at Crabtree's participating restaurants and receive a complimentary professional photo TODAY from 1PM – 4PM. Our photo area is located on the upper level outdoors next to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse!
To receive a complimentary photo, when you arrive at the photo area, please show receipt (from May 1 – May 8), that exceeds $75, from the following participating restaurants: #linkinprofile

We are thrilled to participate with @unitedartscounc for Virtual First Friday featuring Gifts of Gold. What a joy to celebrate the incredible students from Wake County Public Schools and their amazing artwork. We also would like to recognize the fantastic art teachers and celebrate them as well during Teacher Appreciation Week. 🎨🖌✨
Pieces of Gold is an annual showcase of the performing arts, which began in 1983, as dinner and a show in the Raleigh Convention Center. The first year, the show consisted of 150 students from three elementary, two middle and eight high schools. In 1993, a display of the visual arts was added named Gifts of Gold.
Today, this history was commemorated and celebrated at Crabtree with 153 pieces of art from across the district and was unveiled this evening at Arts Night featuring Gifts of Gold.
Students, their families and teachers in attendance viewed the pop-up storefront gallery at Crabtree on the lower level, near H&M featuring art by Underwood Elementary, Davis Drive Middle, and Enloe High students.
Their art will be on display until the end of May! Your next visit to Crabtree, make sure you stop by the showcase.
